Tu-154 flight simulator
Full crew flight simulator
In the museum reserve
The simulator reproduces the operation of all aircraft systems and lets an instructor introduce failures: engine shutdown, icing, decompression. A motion platform on six hydraulic jacks creates g-loads and bank angles, and the visual system renders the runway in various weather.
Training on a simulator is cheaper and safer than real flight, and some situations simply cannot be practised in the air. It was full-flight simulators that turned failures in civil aviation into a predictable, rehearsed situation.
Stored in the HANGAR-Z reserve in preserved condition; the hydraulic system has been removed.
